The Middletown Rotary Scholarship Program

The Middletown Rotary Club has been awarding scholarships to college bound students since the early 1960's.  Much of our fundraising dollars are dedicated to the scholarship program because we believe that our youth are our future.  See the link below to download the application form.

Middletown Rotary Scholarship Award

Rotary is a worldwide organization of more than 1.2 million business, professional, and community leaders. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

There are over 32,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

  • The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
  • High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
  • The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
  • The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

As signified by the motto Service Above Self, Rotary's main objective is service - in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Consistent with this the Middletown Rotary Club will award a scholarship to local graduating seniors who meets the following criteria:

  • A solid record of demonstrated commitment to the concept of Service Above Self
  • An academic record of 3.0 GPA and above
  • Demonstrated financial need as evidenced by a total household family net income of $125,000 or less
  • The ability to communicate a positive attitude and sincere motivation
  • Evidence of acceptance to a college and/or university for the next academic year
  • Must not have been awarded a full-scholarship to any college
  • Proof of residency in the State of Connecticut and current or past attendance of a high school within the jurisdiction of the Club.
  • See the application that can be downloaded below for important dates and amounts.

All applications must be turned into your guidance office, and delivered by the dates and to the address specified on the application. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.  See the application for important, submission, interview and presentation dates and instructions.
